Caritate Cup 2023/2024

Seminary life and formation integrate spiritual, academic, pastoral, and human formation towards the formation of valuable future priests. Holy Family Seminary incorporates human formation in various creative forms of community activities, one among many being sports and games. Thus, while promoting physical well-being, sports and games foster a sense of community and camaraderie among future priests.

Introducing the Caritate Cup 2023/2024, the sports and games department embraced a novel approach by forming teams exclusively from a single class. This departure from the traditional mixed-class teams that characterised the tournament from 2020 to 2023 adds a new layer of excitement to this anticipated event. Since its inception in the 2020–2021 academic year, the Caritate Cup has been a cornerstone of our school's sporting legacy. Teams battled it out with a mix of players from different classes, creating unforgettable moments in the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 editions.

This year, the football and volleyball matches transform into class-centric teams that bring forth class alliances and sociability as players from the same academic year unite to showcase their ability to make sports more fun and interesting. Even its name, "Caritate," a Latin term for 'charity, love', exhibits unity and brotherhood created through sports. The use of chants like "Ut Omnes Unum Sint" (That they All may be One) from the Gospel according to John 17:21, promotes the same goal. As the Caritate Cup unfolds, the school community is on the edge of their seats, eager to witness the unique dynamics of this year's matches. The familiar cheers, the chants, and the collective spirit of the classes are set to elevate the tournament to new heights.
